I am the Registered Manager and one of the Directors here at Kentish Homecare, I came to Kentish Homecare from a background in both hospital and community Nursing. I worked for many years within the NHS as a Registered Nurse, District Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. I am involved in every aspect of the business from overseeing recruitment to meeting every current and prospective new client. It is important for me to meet all of our clients so that I understand what support they may need from us, and also so I have a good understanding of the home situation should the client, their family members or the our carers need further advice or guidance.
I also meet all of our new staff and am actively involved in all our Staff Induction and Carer Training programmes. I oversee all the necessary company organisation procedures as well as monitoring the standards of care within the agency. Last year we undertook a project with St Christopher Hospice staff to improve the outcomes of clients who wish to remain at home to the end.
When I am not at Kentish, I used to spend lots of time as a taxi service ferrying the two boys to and from their various Sporting activities, but that time has now largely passed, and they tend to just ignore me!, so I now target my affections to my beautiful Golden Retriever, Lexi who is the only one who greets me with a wagging tail when I get home at night.
